ciao, Italia – Day 2 in Bologna

It only goes to show that not everything will go as planned when one travels. Always, always be prepared for whatever happens. Sticking to the planned out itinerary is good but what if something comes up? Like, let’s say, the Gelato Museum you planned on visiting that day just closed for the season. Yeah, do some thorough research but also be flexible and roll with the punches.

After our jam-packed and super warm day in Venice, we decided to have a chill day back in Bologna, so, we decided to just go to the city center and see what it had to offer… our stomachs! Because that plan to visit the Gelato Museum didn’t push through, we went where we could and stuffed our faces. Fun times! Pasta, granita and, yes, gelato!

cześć, Wrocław!

After the Paris leg of our trip, we headed to Wrocław, Poland. My older sister went to Poland for work a few months back and we decided to stop by her new home, explore, check out some spots and most importantly, rest up. That time in Paris was a bit fast paced, so we took out time to relax in Wrocław. Here are some of the snaps I took while we explored the especially pretty town. Pardon the haphazard post processing of picture, I edited all these on my mobile.

so many old time-y structures, such pretty colors!

Last Hurrah.

Last Saturday, I went out with a couple of friends from school. One of the said friends decided to treat us to a night of fun and food. We ate some pizzas and had a couple of drinks at Handuraw Pizza, which I also mentioned here. It so happened that most of the guys on that old post were present last Saturday. Not at all coincidental because really, who says “no” to free pizza?

those present! picture from a friend’s camera 🙂

Anyway, after careful deliberation, we placed our orders: 2 pizzas and lots of the potato appetizers. Yum!

mmm meatlovers pizza!

The Meat Lovers pizza! This happened to be the better pizza of the night. All of us were happy with this choice of topping.

The Roasted Garlic and Cheese topped pizza wasn’t much of a hit, though. I mean, the flavors were good, but maybe our pizza was just a tad strong on the garlic and was rather oily. I don’t know. It reminded me of the flavors from their Anchovy Lovey pizza but minus the Anchovy saltiness. 🙂

Now these slices of potatoes were, of course, the most ordered.

potato jojos

They were so good! We ended up ordering four plates of these. It was a bang for the buck, too. Clearly. Funnily enough, we kept confusing their name, Potato Jojos, with that of Shakey’s Mojos. They are pretty close, right?

After that, we had a couple of drinks (perfect with those jojos!), lots of laughs and then, made plans for the rest of the night. In the end, we decided to go and sing some karaoke, my deemed good ol’ Filipino past time. Lots of crazy antics went on there, especially with the company’s mix of personalities and senses of humor. It was so fun. At one point, my sides ached so much from laughing.

When it was getting late, a bunch of us decided to move the “party” to IT Park. Some made plans to meet other people there. Some decided to go to Army Navy and get some burgers. Guess which bunch I was a part of, eh?

Army Navy Classic Burger

Look at this burger! I couldn’t resist. Besides, the friend who treated us at Handuraw & karaoke had never tried one of these burgers before. So, after very little to absolutely no prodding, he finally got a taste. Let’s just say, there were no regrets that night.

Personally, this night was rather appropriate and needed. Within a couple of weeks, my last and probably most grueling semester of school will start. This night was the “last hurrah” before it all, if you will. I had to get some fun in before I stress myself out with school. Like I said, no regrets. 🙂

Chicken and Cha

Yesterday, September 1st, was supposed to be a busy day for me. I had planned on attending a workshop on the afternoon but wasn’t able to go. For one, in accordance with the rainy season in the Philippines, it poured around midday, making it impossible to go out without getting your shoes wet. And, my stomach decided to act all funny. 😦 This all happened when  the boyfriend and I were taking our lunch. Therefore, all afternoon plans were cancelled.

I was going to write about that workshop but since I wasn’t able to attend, I shall blog about the lunch instead.

This blog is starting to be a food blog now. Sheesh.

We went to Chicken Charlie. This was our second time going.

they had pretty interiors 🙂 look at the ceiling!

The prior being the night of my birthday. woo! On the first go, I ate their Meal with 3 pieces of wings. This was decided due to the fact that wings were the only part available. LOL. Anyway, I tried both of their flavors (Soy Garlic & Sweet Chili was it?). Both are very yum!  The boyfriend tried their rice bowl. It was alright. The boyfriend got to taste my meal a bit said that their wings are good for those days when you want to just lounge around, watch some movies and want something to munch on.

On the second go, we both ate the chicken, only it was the “drumstick” part. He had the spicy flavored one. I had the non-spicy flavor. Surprisingly, the wings had more flavor… making it more yum. I was rather disappointed. No pictures of the chicken. They didn’t photograph well for me. 😦

We also tried their potato wedges (they’re good!) and their dynamite cheese sticks (they’re very good too!).

Dynamite Cheese Sticks!
Potato Wedges! 🙂

After that, we went next-door to Chatime and had our tea fix. Milk tea is becoming quite a trend here in Cebu City. Tea shops are popping out everywhere!

His red bean milk tea and my taro milk tea with mousse on top 🙂

The red bean milk tea had a very strong tea flavor which is good. In most milk teas here, one tastes more milk than tea.

The taro milk tea with the mousse was very yummy! It was very filling, too. I’ve tried a handful of taro flavored milk teas before but this one was the only one with real taro bits in it. Well, i think it was real taro bits. 🙂 The mousse on top was so good, too!

The place was very pretty also. They had such cute furnishings in the very girly colors of pink and purple.

I am going back here though. It’s hard not to, as it is also right next to Army Navy Burger + Burrito.

a girly girl’s haven! LOL
you can see the gloom outside, as it was raining.

And then, my stomach started to act out. That’s basically it.
