Tokyo, a Photo Diary – Day 6

I think we made the most of our 6th and last day in Tokyo. First on the agenda was the Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, then it was the quest for authentic yummy Ramen, then back to Tokyo SkyTree and we went up to the Tembo Deck which is 350 meters up. My knees were shaking while standing on the glass floor just to take a picture. Points for making it through, yes? And then, finally Cold Stone Ice Cream on floor 4. After all that, it was to the airport and back to Cebu.

In case you missed them, here are Day 1Day 2Day 3Day 4 and Day 5.

I had a great time in Tokyo. Hopefully, I get to go back to Japan and explore even more places there. Crossing my fingers for that! But, where to, next?

Tokyo, a Photo Diary – Day 5

Day 5 in Tokyo was a bit of a lazy day. It was the day dedicated to cherry blossoms at Shinjuku Gyoen and shopping all over. With this not being enough for me and my sister, we decided to explore the area around our hotel, Dai-Ichi Hotel Ryogoku. There are very few pictures because I didn’t have the chance to document our shopping excursion properly & I also didn’t want to post the same things over and over again . Oh, well.

In case you missed them, here are Day 1Day 2Day 3 and Day 4.

Tokyo, a Photo Diary – Day 4

Hmm. It seems like the weekends are the only opportunity for me to post about Tokyo. Here’s day 4!

After all that Disney madness, it was finally time to explore the city more. Our 4th day in Tokyo was full. So, there are slightly more pictures for this day. We walked around the streets, went inside a few gardens, visited a park and a museum, and then went to Tokyo Solamachi. Hopefully, through these pictures, you’d get to see what I saw.

In case you missed them, here are Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3.

Tokyo, a Photo Diary – Day 3

This photo diary is dedicated to our third day in Tokyo and our last in Tokyo Disney Resort. Back to Disneyland it was!

Although we did not get the chance to go on the rides since we went there mid-morning and the lines were super long, we still had lots of fun.

For one thing, the weather was perfect! Sunny with a cool breeze – I wish it was like that here in the Philippines. But, oh well, the trip to Tokyo at early spring time made me appreciate my warm home.

We also got to explore areas that we hadn’t on our first day. We got to see the morning parade for easter and spring time – Happiness Is Here. We had lunch at the Alice in Wonderland themed Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall. We also got to taste a few of the yummy treats in Adventureland.

We also got to meet lots of characters. The characters were out and about near the entrance. It was a frenzy! We ran around, getting autographs, posing for pictures. It was great fun especially because characters who aren’t as popular as, let’s say, the princesses were there. The Seven Dwarves were marching about. We saw Tigger being surrounded by eager kids. We saw the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella, Mary Poppins, Bert and so much more.

After spending half the day at Disneyland, we took the Disney monorail to DisneySea where our bus back to the hotel was going to be. So, we spent most of our last afternoon in TDR shopping and staying indoors as it got a lot cooler at night.

It is a bit sad to admit but we did not make the most of our time there. But all the more reason to go back someday, huh? At least, that’s one more Disney theme park off the list. Hopefully, Paris next? A girl can only dream.

Without further ado, here are the pictures! In case you missed them, here are links to Day 1 and Day 2.

Tokyo, a Photo Diary – Day 2

Okay. I was totally overwhelmed by the number of photos I had to go through just for the second day in Tokyo – and we were only at one place: Tokyo DisneySea.

I had not realized then that I took so many pictures but it is somewhat expected because DisneySea is the only Disney theme park of its kind. Words cannot express how eventful that day was. From the rides, the picturesque yet themed scenery, the spectacular shows, the super yummy “Instagram-able” food, and to the cold harsh weather – day 2 in Tokyo was jam-packed.

This is a photo diary, after all, I will let the pictures do the talking.

Also, my Day 1 Photo Diary is here.

Tokyo, a Photo Diary – Day 1

Two weeks ago, the whole family went to Tokyo, Japan for 6 days. Can you say FUN? So, after sorting through the thousands of pictures taken with my camera, I have finally chosen some for posting. Slowly but surely, I will be placing them here in my humble blog.

This specific post is dedicated for our first day in Tokyo. As we arrived early in the afternoon at Narita Airport, first on the agenda was lunch (sushi! in Japan!)  and then, of course, Tokyo Disney Resort. See our priorities? No shame, though!

Getting to Tokyo Disney Resort was a bit of an adventure. We had to take the train there and we got lost a lot. As we walked to the station, there was a bit of confusion on navigating the maps. So to not waste anymore time, we decided to take a bus to the station instead. Confused with how much to pay for the fare, we ended up paying more than the actual amount. Oh, well. As we went inside the station, it totally slipped our minds that it was near rush hour. So, it was pretty crowded and we were standing the whole ride. Fun times for our first train ride in Japan, eh? Still, it was amazing how organized it all was.

Getting off the train, I was all giddy inside especially when a sign saying “Welcome to Tokyo Disney Resort” with Minnie & Mickey Mouse’s faces greeted me. I was literally skipping all the way to the entrance.

Tokyo Disney Resort is actually two theme parks: Disneyland and DisneySea. Before the actual trip, it was planned that we go to Disneyland for our first afternoon in TDR. With that, we already had a list of which places to hit. But since we got there at night, most rides had super long waiting times, so those plans were botched. Luckily enough, we got there right on time for the Dream Lights Parade. After that, we still had a few hours to kill until closing, we got on a bunch of other rides (with 5 minute wait times or none at all). Goes to show that no matter how much you plan things, there are still curve balls here and there. Best to be prepared!

And after all that rambling, here are the said photos. They are mediocre at best but they remind me of my experience which is what pictures should do, I think. Here you go!
