Last friday, I got the opportunity to photograph a friend and a couple of her friends. This friend just loves being infront of the camera and having her picture taken.
It’s been so long since I’ve had a “photo shoot” with people. Also, I took this as a chance to use the varsity jackets which another friend of mine is selling. See, we have this project in school to develop a website. We chose to make an e-commerce kind so, i’m thinking of using the pictures to put up in the site. ^_^ killing two birds with one stone, eh?
So, here are a few of the pictures:
The weather was quite gloomy that afternoon. So, I decided to process the photos to make them sunny looking. This was the first time I actually used Lightroom other than just picking a preset then sticking ’em into the photo. LOL
I know I am not good at this. (Someone once told me I take better pictures of things rather than of people.) I still need lots and lots and lots of practice. Hopefully, there are people out there willing to be guinea pigs for a day.
So, i was looking and reading blogs all throughout the inter-webs, and I wondered how so many blogs exist and how these bloggers continue to just have heaps of ideas and stuff to write about. Look at me, for example, I haven’t “blogged” about anything in days simply because lately, no event has been deemed “blog-worthy” to me. Maybe I am just picky about my topics or maybe i’m just too plain and boring to have an interesting life, it still doesn’t change the fact that I had nothing to share to the blogosphere. So, here I am.
Again, I was browsing through random blogs, right? As I was reading the stuff they’ve posted, it occurred to me that these bloggers know their stuff. What I mean is that, they know what to write about. I guess they just know what they want to tell the world. And with my usual over-thinking self, I realized that these people had solid identities. They knew who they were inside and out. They are very much sure as to who they are for they are able to share to their readers their thoughts, likes, dislikes, etc. They all had unique personalities.
These thoughts brought to mind the very harsh words my sister told me: “You don’t have a personality.” Ouch, right? It sucks to know that someone perceives me to be lacking of a personality. Hell, it’s my sister!
But anyway, she explained that I don’t have a personality due to my not having any “hard-core” hobbies. You see, i do whatever I feel, whenever I feel like it. A freewheeler, you might say. (See what I did there? LOL) I don’t want to box myself in with regards to what I want to do for fun.
Despite that though, there are a few activities that I tend to do more than others, like reading and writing, like going on food trips, like taking photos – stuff you might see here on my blog. Still, those things aren’t enough for my sister, I guess. And no, she is not a villain for saying that to me. She just said that to “guide” me in life, as she feels i’m not moving forward nor up. LOL
Whew. That was a lot.
I’ve come to a realization as i write this blog entry. (that blogging is cathartic!) With regards to my personality, hey, maybe I just don’t know myself that much yet. I haven’t really bloomed and became conscious of who I am and who I was becoming till i started university. The past years, I’ve really looked at myself – the good, the bad, the things in between and I’ve made visible changes. I am getting there, I think. I guess it all boils down to me knowing who I am so that I can be true to myself and share that truth to the world… hence, the blog.
Yesterday, September 1st, was supposed to be a busy day for me. I had planned on attending a workshop on the afternoon but wasn’t able to go. For one, in accordance with the rainy season in the Philippines, it poured around midday, making it impossible to go out without getting your shoes wet. And, my stomach decided to act all funny. 😦 This all happened when the boyfriend and I were taking our lunch. Therefore, all afternoon plans were cancelled.
I was going to write about that workshop but since I wasn’t able to attend, I shall blog about the lunch instead.
This blog is starting to be a food blog now. Sheesh.
We went to Chicken Charlie. This was our second time going.
The prior being the night of my birthday. woo! On the first go, I ate their Meal with 3 pieces of wings. This was decided due to the fact that wings were the only part available. LOL. Anyway, I tried both of their flavors (Soy Garlic & Sweet Chili was it?). Both are very yum! The boyfriend tried their rice bowl. It was alright. The boyfriend got to taste my meal a bit said that their wings are good for those days when you want to just lounge around, watch some movies and want something to munch on.
On the second go, we both ate the chicken, only it was the “drumstick” part. He had the spicy flavored one. I had the non-spicy flavor. Surprisingly, the wings had more flavor… making it more yum. I was rather disappointed. No pictures of the chicken. They didn’t photograph well for me. 😦
We also tried their potato wedges (they’re good!) and their dynamite cheese sticks (they’re very good too!).
After that, we went next-door to Chatime and had our tea fix. Milk tea is becoming quite a trend here in Cebu City. Tea shops are popping out everywhere!
The red bean milk tea had a very strong tea flavor which is good. In most milk teas here, one tastes more milk than tea.
The taro milk tea with the mousse was very yummy! It was very filling, too. I’ve tried a handful of taro flavored milk teas before but this one was the only one with real taro bits in it. Well, i think it was real taro bits. 🙂 The mousse on top was so good, too!
The place was very pretty also. They had such cute furnishings in the very girly colors of pink and purple.
